What is kNOw MORE?

At Marjaree Mason Center (MMC), we believe that awareness and education are key to breaking the cycle of teen dating violence. For this reason, our kNOw MORE program was created as a dynamic forum for teens to learn about relationships. Through activities, videos, real-life stories, and hard-hitting statistics on the long-term effects of abuse, we demonstrate the serious consequences of unhealthy relationships and domestic violence.

The kNOw MORE program uses focus-led discussions that center on healthy relationships and dating violence awareness. Our Prevention and Education Team works with middle and high school students to empower them with the knowledge they need to identify and prevent abuse, both in their relationships and in the relationships of others.

The primary goal of kNOw MORE is to increase students' knowledge of healthy and unhealthy relationships and encourage them to become leaders on their campuses. We inspire creativity by asking students to think outside the box and developing activities that engage their peers in learning about respectful relationships and warning signs of abuse.

Who Does kNOw MORE Serve?

While the primary audience of kNOw MORE is middle and high-school-aged youth, the program also engages teachers, parents, and other adults who influence teens. By increasing awareness among adults, we aim to equip them with the tools to recognize red flags in teen relationships and to know how to support a young person who may be experiencing dating violence.

Creating a culture of trust and support on school campuses is vital in preventing teen dating violence. The kNOw MORE program fosters this culture by building a safe space for students to share their experiences, ask questions, and receive guidance in navigating their relationships.
