Preparing Children for a Successful School Year
Although the end of summer is approaching fast, this count down is usually accompanied with the excitement of back to school shopping! However, for many of our clients this annual activity can bring feelings of disappointment and discouragement, as many domestic violence victims no longer have the financial stability to provide for the school year ahead.
Fortunately, our agency is surrounded by such an amazing community who continue to support our cause and ease the hardships of those in need. This year, we had several different groups contribute to our Back to School campaign. With over 200 backpacks donated, all stuffed with the essential school supplies. Though we are typically viewed as a domestic violence shelter, we also provide a wide range of support services to other individuals that reside off campus who are impacted by domestic violence. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of all those involved, these clients and their children will not be forgotten.
