MMC Participates in 3rd Annual Poverello House Resource Fair Block Party

The DJ was awesome, the beats were fun, there was dancing and food – what more could you ask for on a beautiful Friday morning? The Poverello House hosted their 3rd annual block party on Friday August 5th offering resources to the community ranging from CHP demonstrating proper installation of car seats to volunteers donating their time to cut community members’ hair for free. There was also a free farmers market that any and all were welcome to select the freshest produce from right here in the valley.

Poverello House holds this annual block party to educate clients and the community about different resources available to them, and also to bring everyone together. Several local agencies were present, including; Lighthouse Recovery, Department of Social Services, Westcare, and Angels of Grace Foster Family – to name a few! Agencies reached well over 100 people during the day and connected with each other to create an open forum for those in need.

The Marjaree Mason Center is a close, and proud, partner of the Poverello House and enjoyed the opportunity to reach out to the public. The success of non-profits in Fresno County is dependent on a spirit of collaboration with our community partners – a huge thank you to Poverello House for rounding everyone up!
