Life Transition Program Manager

 

Type:                           Regular, Full-Time

Status:                        Exempt

Reports to:                Director of Clinical Services

Hours of Work:        Monday – Friday – Modified days/hours as needed

 

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, this position manages day-to-day operations of the Life Transition Program including but not limited to: complete oversight and supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers, Batterers’ Intervention, Child Abuse Intervention, Parenting, Phoenix, and Anger Management.  Provides support in meeting agency strategic plan goals and interagency advocacy.  Makes recommendations for service and/or facility needs and modifications to the Clinical director and may act in the absence of the Director of Clinical Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Has the lead role in LTP program operations and support to MMC employees and volunteers.

  2. Addresses LTP operational and/or client concerns, issues and needs on a regular basis and informs the Director of Clinical Services when needed.

  3. Informs leadership of policy or process changes that necessary to provide the best service for our employees and/or clients, and ensures compliance with the agency mission and vision.

  4. Manages all Life Transition programs, including scheduling and assures services are in place for all programs.

  5. Performs program intakes with clients, to include Domestic Violence Inventories.

  6. Maintain consistent communication, problem solving, and teamwork with internal agency divisions as well as partnering agencies (CPS, Fresno County Probation, etc) to ensure seamless quality client services.

  7. Facilitates quarterly facilitator meetings.

  8. Responsible for the resolution of internal staff / facility operating issues.

  9. Responsible for reviewing client complaints, concerns, needs and grievance procedures.

  10. Ensures the timely and accurate input of statistical data for programs as required or requested by any vendors, contracting agencies or MMC.

  11. Review client intake assessment protocols and materials; to ensure program and operational needs/data collection are current and effective.

  12. Oversee and assure all client files are current and accurate, stored appropriately and that confidentiality of recorded is maintained.

  13. Develop and maintain good working relationships with personnel with probation, law enforcement and judicial officers.

  14. Facilitate BIP groups when an absence of facilitator occurs.

  15. Ensure a caring, supportive and empowering, nonjudgmental environment for clients.

  16. Ensures completion of program recertification procedures and documentation.

  17. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee’s essential job functions.

EMPLOYEES:

  1. Takes a lead role in the interview and selection of new employee hiring for LTP.

  2. In conjunction with the Human Resource Department, will engage and implement a training process promoting staff/volunteer proficiency in that they are functionally knowledgeable of their duties.

  3. Ensure a system of continuous staff learning & development, via training, webinars & workshops.

  4. Complete weekly work assignments / staff schedules, ensuring that agency work policies are met and ensuring staff assignments meet agency/client needs throughout the week.

  5. Maintain a positive work environment and culture of “team work” among staff.

  6. Hold 1:1 meetings with staff, interns & volunteers to address concerns & provide feedback for job growth.

  7. Monitor staff performance and ensure staff, intern and volunteer compliance with agency policies & procedures.Alert the Director of Clinical Services when issues or concerns arise.

  8. Completes LTP staff introductory and annual reviews in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services.

  9. Review and approve staff bi-weekly timesheets and time off request.

FACILITIES:

  1. Monitor facility cleanliness and maintenance, via a building daily walk through & scheduling special maintenance needs with the facilities department.Ensure the facility health and safety concerns for staff and/or clients are addressed.

  2. Report continuing maintenance issues or general facility’s concerns to the Facilities Director.

The Life Transitions Program Manager is expected to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in carrying out job duties. The Life Transitions Program Manager is also expected to perform solely exempt-type duties more than 50% of work time during the workweek.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required; social work discipline preferred.
  2. One year of progressively responsible non-profit program management experience and staff supervision.
  3. Thorough understanding of and support for the agency philosophy.

  4. Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, clients, families, and community.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and proof of liability insurance on personal auto.

  • Must be insurable at all times at standard rate by MMC insurance carrier.

  • Must pass a tuberculosis, drug and fingerprinting test.

  • Must be able to obtain DV facilitator certification.

  • Must complete 40-hour DV training.
