Licensed Therapist

Type:                    Regular, Full-Time

Status:                  Non-Exempt

Report to:             Director of Clinical Services

Hours:                  8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday (occasional evenings)                                           


SUMMARY: Provide counseling services to adults, children, teens, and families that are survivors of Domestic Violence.


  • Attend DV 40-hour training within 45 days of start date.

  • Provide short and long-term counseling to adults, children, teens, and families (non-residential and residential).

  • Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans.

  • Conduct assessments, therapeutic interviews, and counseling to assist individuals and families to gain insight into personal issues, define goals, plan action reflecting interests, abilities and needs.Assist clients in understanding and overcoming social and emotional issues.

  • Provides best practice approach to the development of new programs to improve clinical

    outcomes and reduce domestic violence recidivism.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze information about individuals through use of interview, case history, observation techniques, professional sources and records.

  • Complete all necessary assessment forms following all procedures.

  • Daily preparation and maintenance of client records and files.

  • Participates in weekly staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and in individual and/or group supervision sessions.

  • Responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for clientele and adheres to

    laws regarding confidentiality and reporting requirements.

  • Ensure that minimum productivity standards are met monthly.

  • Ensure all evaluation procedures are being followed and implemented.

  • For Medi-Cal clients, complete all needed Medi-Cal paperwork in designated time frames.

  • Attend trainings as assigned by supervisor.

  • Facilitate group sessions

  • Work as a team and support the mission and goals of the agency and programs.
  • Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work.

  • Interacting with other employees at work.

  • Arriving at work on time and not leaving early.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director


  • Master’s Degree required in psychology, sociology, or a related social science field or equivalent, who is currently registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).

  • One (1) year direct service experience with psychotherapy assessments to adults, adolescents, and/or children.

  • Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence based practices
  • Experience working in a crisis setting with adults and children

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, clients, families, and community,

  • Aptitude in resolving issues and conflict,

  • Proficient in MS Office and other client management software

  • Ability to drive and reliable transportation is required.

  • Experience with Medi-Cal, Victim Witness and other types of client billings

  • Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.

  • Ability to drive and reliable transportation is required.

  • Proof of liability insurance.

  • Clean DMV record.

  • Must be certifiable as a Medi-Cal provider

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word & Outlook)



  • Must maintain licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

  • Must be certifiable as a Medi-Cal provider

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license
